Forest Growers Research Partners with Deeplai Implementing Log ID Across New Zealand.

This partnership aligns with FGR’s commitment to fostering innovation and research leadership in New Zealand forestry. At present the only individual log ID system used successfully in New Zealand is the paper tag imprinted with a barcode or QR code for export logs.

This currently requires manual attachment to logs by metal staples and consequently, is subject to removal or loss.

Through the Automated Log Identification Project, led by FGR Harvesting Programme Manager Keith Raymond, the aim is to deliver a cost-effective, eco-friendly, and fully automated log tracking system.
